"The sooner this is done, the better in my opinion," Jared grumbled.
"Don't take any crazy risks," he warned Davey one more time. "If things start looking bad, call for help."
He set his shoulders and nodded toward the street corner just out of line of site from Davey's front door. "I'll be right over there."

Nodding Rose gave Davey's shoulder one last squeeze and went to go get into position, wandering a bit and then finding an older gent to talk to about what the reality was like around there. Poor college student needing to get out of the city and unable to afford else where. Good cover, especially considering she was dressed like one today.
Smiling she thanked the man and muttered as she wnet to "house browes", "One word and I'll let them all know exactly what is between you and your doctor.." she went back to her browsing, never going too far, always coming back to a couple and comparing, well within sight of the target house.

Jack proudly watched his team disperse away from Davey and arrange themselves in a completed disorganised but precise manner. He looked to John and gestured him away and turned his attention to Davey.
"Ok kid, this is it. Remember, we see what you see and hear what you hear. As soon as I see what we need I will personally pull you out of there if you can't get out of your own means. You need a safeword, something to say if things are getting too serious and you need someone to step in, can you think of something?" he asked, just to have it in place.

Davey thought hard about a safe word, and also about what needing one would mean. "Um... dragon." he stated finally, " I want that to be the word." He didn't give any reason and wasn't going to either but he knew that was the word.
Davey lifted his head and looked around, identifying where everyone had headed and then pulled his hood up over his head and with a nod to Jack made his way down the street.

Jared leaned back on his heels and fiddled with his phone looking dangerous. The images from Davey's contacts were displaying on the screen so even at a safe distance he basically had a front row seat.
He'd just have to look surly and scary enough so that people would cross the street to avoid him. He sneered darkly at three teens walking past and they diverted to the other side, only quickly checking for cars.
Scary enough. Check.

John wandered away from Jack absently, but not that far. That would be stupid if he was needed, wouldn't it? He found a wall, just inside a nearby alley because then he could just look like he was selling something and not actually look important at all, and pulled out the PSP again, chewing on his bottom lip as he restarted his game.
He wasn't really paying attention though, not to the game, because this was quite serious, and he had to be watching the house. And Jack, to check if he was needed. But he was good at looking like he wasn't doing anything if he tried.
Though, if it went on much longer with not doing anything, he'd have to find some passerby to flirt with for something to do.

"Right..." he muttered quietly to himself as he approached the bedraggled and neglected pathway to the front door of his family home. Davey Jackson's head went down and he stabbed the cold metal key into the lock of the boarded up door. Paint flaked off as his hand twisted the metal in the lock and the door begrudgingly moved as he kicked it with the toe of one shoe.
He lifted his eyes then for two reasons, one to ascertain if either his brother or mother were home, and secondly if his younger siblings had gone to school yet. The silence in the house did nothing to reassure him, but he pressed forwards, deliberately looking around him fully so that Jack and whoever else was monitoring him could see where he was and headed; where he was headed was upstairs.
He raised one foot after the other, not hiding his footsteps but not drawing attention to himself either and may his way upstairs, he was almost at the top when he heard the creak of a floorboard and a rough coughing, great. His mam was home and awake.
"Morning mam..." he said quietly as she staggered across the landing towards the bathroom. Mrs Jackson barely looked up as her son spoke instead scowled at him and slapped him upside the head. "Euan's pissed off with you, he had to drop the little shits at school cause you were off doing fuck knows what." she snapped, a small and vindictive smile playing across her lips as she spoke. "He's going to beat the living shit out of you."
Davey's blood ran cold as his mam spoke and all he could do was watch as she pushed past and locked herself in the small grubby bathroom at the end of the corridor.
"Shit..." he said to himself, hoping someone had caught that. Just as he made it to him room and closed the door behind him he heard the front door slam and a voice shout out.
"Right you little fucker! I'm going to make you wish you had never been born!"
'Too late...' Davey thought to himself as he braced himself for his brothers wrath.

Jack was watching on his mobile unit in the SUV where he was keeping an eye on Davey. He could see the boy's heart rate pick up as he entered the house and Jack couldn't help but feel sympathy for him.
Jack watched with a trained eye as Davey showed him the house, he silently thanked the boy for that. Knowing the layout would help them in attempting a rescue if needed, he kept observing.
"Jared, Davey's in the house..." He said through his comm unit. Jack watched Davey go up the stairs and heard the creak at the same time as the youngster. "Mother is in the house..." he addressed to all of his team via comm.
She was a real piece of work, Jack could see by the interaction between her and her son, but as she spoke and she saw Davey's heart rate spike sky high he knew there was an ever bigger problem.
Euan.

Jared was denting his hand around the PDA held in his fist. They needed to be moving. Why wasn't anyone moving?
"Jack..." he prodded softly. He wanted to be cleared to move, but he wasn't going to wait long for the permission. His fingers and toes were already tingling with the need to move.

John glanced out of the alley in Jack's direction, then in Jared's, who looked like he wanted to move. But they couldn't. Hell, even he knew that, and he wasn't entirely sure what was going on.
"Can't move yet," he said, to whoever was listening, "Need proof, don't we? Not exactly going to get another chnace of this."

Jack recognised the tone in his doctor's voice well enough to know what he was thinking, "Wait..." he stated simply, "But get ready to move on my signal..." he directed.
Jack checked Davey's vitals on the monitor and although they were high they were consistent with the situation he was in for the moment. Jack watched through Davey's eyes as the boy made himself smaller and fixed his eyes on the closed door of his bedroom as if waiting for it to open...
Then it did.

Andy was bouncing on his heels waiting for any news from anyone about what was going on. He had the misfortune to have encountered Mrs Jackson and indeed Euan Jackson before on several occasions and none of them left him with a good impression of the family, same could be said of Davey too, although now he knew the reasons why. It was too late for the older brother, he was gone: under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
But Davey appeared to be different, and like it or not Torchwood had taken an interest which was why Andy found himself here now, just waiting.

Rose had heard and was slowly making her way back stopping to smile and chat with the neighbors, covertly asking questions if it was a noisey neighboor hood, if anyone had haerd anything unusual that might make her not want to move in.
No one would admit to everything but eyes drifted to the Jackson house hold and she smiled. "Jack, I think the closest neighboors know, but they're too scared to say," she muttered and slowly moved closer to the house, hands adjusting automatically to be able to pull her gun within seconds and run in guns blazing.
her fingers twitched as she waited, ready to just go give the man better than he coudl give but she had the feeling Jack would want her else where...

The door flew open and Euan's face was a blur as he automatically reached for Davey and pinned him to the far wall of his bedroom. Davey struggled to keep his eyes open as the pressure continued on his throat, "Euan... ssstooopp...." he gasped, "Your fucking... hurting me..." he tried to say but it came out as more of a strangled garbled mess.
"Little fucking scumbag, dossing out on the streets again were you? Selling your arse like the cheap little bastard you are?" Euan spat directly into Davey's face. His older brother let go of him then and Davey slumped onto his bead, rubbing at his neck and gasping for breath. He hoped Jack had seen that and he could get out but as soon as he thought that he saw words appearing in his line of vision:
ALMOST THERE. WE ARE OUTSIDE. STAY STRONG.
Davey swallowed and looked up at Euan, "Sorry... got caught shoplifting..." he threw the fake wallet Jared had given him towards his brother, "Been in the nick..." well, it wasn't exactly a lie.
"You useless bastard... what good are you to me if you keep getting fucking caught?!" he shouted, then the door to his bedroom banged on its hinges and his mam appeared at the doorway. She looked down at him in disgust and raised her hand, slapping him hard enough around his face to make his eyes sting. "Useless boy. Your dad would turn in his grave if he could see you now you snivelling pathetic excuse of a boy."
The older woman swayed slightly on her feet and produced a bottle of Vodka from somewhere and proceeded to down a large amount from it in one go, Davey bit back his tears at the sight before him.

Jared saw the taller, stronger boy slam open the door in the screen of his PDA. From the angle Daffyd was being pinned and they lost the image several times as the teen's eyes fluttered between open and shut. Jared read Jack's encouragement to Davey, but he couldn't hold himself back another second.
He dropped the PDA in his coat pocket and bolted to the house. He spotted Rose moving toward him as he shortened his final few strides, so he could plant his foot in the sweet spot of the front door. Wood splintered under his weight and momentum but held, forcing him back. He transitioned feet in a half circle, giving it a second kick that forced it off the hinges and left Jared limping through the living room, his ankle complaining enough to make his team mates decidedly faster.
