Tony straightened his baseball cap, pulling the peak over his eyes, and sitting underneath the windowsill in the bedroom, the blanket that acted as a curtain pulled over his face so that he could look up behind him through the glass at the sun in the sky. And singing softly to himself, from an Eminem song that he'd heard in a shop while he'd been getting the hat. He liked Eminem, he'd decided, although he couldn't remember all the words to this song.
It was a nice hat as well, with a gold sign on the front. He supposed it was a bit of a luxury, and clothes were supposed to be a necessity. He didn't feel bad about stealing things that he needed. But it kept the sun out of his eyes, which was his excuse.
He stretched his legs out in front of him, far enough so that the toes of his trainers pushed into the edge of the mattress, and twisted the chain around his neck between his fingers.

Jake leant against the doorframe, watching him quietly for a moment. He had a bag of crisps dangling from one hand, which he had just picked up from the now empty food pile in the other room, intending to share them. Which he was still going to do, but he watched for a while first, because he enjoyed watching Tony. The other man looked relaxed, which was nice.
He moved eventually though, opening the bag of crisps with quite a loud loud. He winced at the sound, cursing it for being quite so loud. But then held it out towards the man who's face was hidden by the blanket-curtain.
"Hula Hoop?"

Tony stopped what he was doing, and lifted the corner of the material to look around it, and at him, before smiling slightly and cocking his hat up on his head, leaning back against the wall.
"Yeah, please." he said, holding one hand out, before using it to beckon him over "Do you want to come in my tent?"
It was good to be back here, where he could hide again. Until the Doctor came and he had to be ready. He would be ready.

"Tent?" he asked, the grin still on his lips, "I'd call it a den. Sounds more fun, that way."
Like the dens that kids in his time used to make, using blankets and pillows, or, if outside, sticks and leaves and odd scraps of tarpaulin. He hadn't made much of them himself though, but whenever he'd seen kids in passing, they'd seemed to love them. He prefferred being in something stable rather than a tent, anyway. In a tent, every sound was amplified and it made his confusion grow as he tried to place what sounds were.
He pushed off the doorframe, heaving over the room towards him, stepping around the mattress without a seconds thought. And held out the packet as he approached, popping two rings into his mouth with his other hand.

"Yeah, suppose it is more a den." he said thoughtfully, tilting his head back to look behind him, at the sky and out of the window.
He took the packet from Jake to spear a couple of the rings on the tips of his fingers before holding it out for him to take it back. Leaning back against the wall, he rested the back of his head somewhat awkwardly on the windowsill, half closing his eyes and humming softly to himself.
It was good to be happy for the moment. Or if not totally happy, then at least distracted enough to kid himself that he was.

"Having dens is adorable," he said with a small grin, sliding down the wall so he was sat with his back against it, before shifted along the wall so he was sat beside him, lifting the sheet with his other hand so he could join him.
He blinked up at the sky, before turning his head to grin at him. Again. "Pretty view, as well."

"...yeah?" he enquired with a small grin, pulling one of the hula hoops from his finger with his teeth and crunching it up "Never did that when I was a kid. Nobody round our way did. Dunno anybody who did."
In fact, the only reason he knew what Jake was referring to was from old films and things like that. He wasn't sure if he'd ever seen it done anywhere. He was sure people did, somewhere, just not that he knew. Not until he was older, anyway, when they were having to build shelters, not dens, and that was war, not playing.
"Nice weather. Sunny." he said, a little wistfully, but still smiling.

"I didn't really...But other kids on the estate did. Learnt tricks off the soldiers, an' stuff. Sometimes I joined in. Used to use metal and scraps of card to make hideouts," he said, popping another hula hoop into his mouth. Yeah...sometimes. Whenever he hadn't been caring for his mum, anyway.
He glanced over at him again, then up at the sky. It was sunny out...a nice day, really, and he enjoyed looking out at it. He'd missed the sun in the time he'd spent in UNIT. The closest he'd gotten to was through the three inch thick glass windows in the technology centers.
"We could go out, if you want..." he voiced absently, his eyes still up on the sky.

"We had to do stuff like that and all. Places to sleep, like."
Where the Daleks couldn't spot them from the sky. They hid wherever they could. He learnt most of that from Mr Jones, how to build shelters and how to keep safe and hidden.
He gazed at the blue of the sky and thought about that, about going out. It might be nice to be in the sun, but it was also nice to stay up here. Not hiding, that wasn't what they were doing. Well, that was sort of what they were doing...
"If you want. Could do, if you want."

"I don't mind..." he said softly, turning his gaze back to him.
Sure...he was still nervous about going outside and being in this city, which he didn't know, alone. But he wouldn't be alone, and it would be sunny and nice, and they had been hiding for quite a while. There probably...hopefully...weren't many soldiers around now. None which would come after them anyway.

"It's up to you." he said softly, eating the other hula hoop with a loud crunch as he bit it in two.
Of course, that might just be him trying to shift responsibility. As usual. No, he didn't do that, did he? Maybe he would rather other people made decisions, but that didn't mean that he wasn't responsible. Having the weight of the world, and the future, on his shoulders... well that tended to make him want to stay away from decision making, he supposed. Even little decisions.
He leant across to take Jake's hand, threading his fingers through his. Perhaps a little childishly, but he wanted to.

Did he want to do that? Make a decision? Well...yes, in a way. Although, he didn't think he'd be able to again if he did say yes and then Tony got hurt because it turned out the soldiers were still hunting for him.
But...it was sunny...
"Yes," he said, squeezing his hand determindly, and, admittedly, for a bit of reassurance. "There could be a park...or something. Just to...be outside, y'know? If..if that's alright..."

"Yeah, yeah, that sounds good." he said, determinedly "Yeah, alright. Can do that."
It might be a good thing to go outside, in the warm weather. It wasn't healthy to stay indoors all of the time anyway. He'd like to go out, he thought, even if the idea did make him a little nervous. But that was probably just him, being paranoid. There wouldn't be anybody looking for them. They would be fine. It would only be for a little while, to get some sun, and it was so lovely and sunny.

Jake nodded, turning his gaze back towards the sky with a determind look, looking out for a moment. And then slipping out from beneath the blanket, and standing up, still holding his hand tightly.
"If we nick someone wallet, we can even get some food, or something. Just nice an quiet-like...that's alright, isn't it?"

"Course, that's alright." he said, nodding slightly, pushing himself to stand up, locking his fingers around Jake's.
It wouldn't be a problem, and he didn't see anything wrong with stealing somebody's wallet, not any more. Everybody they would possibly be stealing from would have much more money than they did. They would be able to afford it. It was all about survival.
